Nonsurgical and Injectables Treatments

Everyone tries to postpone lines and wrinkles from developing across their faces. Even with a diligent skin care routine, the signs of age will eventually appear. Natural tissue breakdown leads to the formation of these lines, and this process is expedited by sun damage, harsh environments, poor diet, tobacco use, and repeated facial movements.

Plastic surgery is available to target the wrinkles and volume loss brought on by the aging process; however, surgery is not right for everyone. Injectables and fillers offer a nonsurgical approach to the minimization of these concerns. These minimally invasive options involve no incisions, require minimal to no downtime, and provide immediate results.

What Are Your Goals?

Fewer Age-Related Lines

Collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid are natural proteins that are found in abundance when you are young. This production diminishes with age, sun damage, and unhealthy lifestyles, and cause the development of lines and wrinkles across your face. Fillers reduce mild to severe facial lines and wrinkles to restore smoothness.

Increased Facial Volume

The gradual breakdown of collagen and elastin also contributes to the loss of facial fat around the midface. With time, the natural fat that provides your cheeks with their youthful contour vanishes, leaving your face looking hollow or gaunt. Fillers return fullness and shape to the midface.

Reduced Crow’s Feet

Blinking, squinting, and other repeated eye movements put constant strain on the skin around the eye. Over time, this strain causes crow’s feet, the small lines that radiate from the corner of the eye. Injectable fillers temporarily smooth these lines for a youthful gaze.

Lessened Frown Lines

Frown lines, known as glabellar lines or the “11” lines between the brows, develop every time you frown or squint. When you are young, these lines diminish as soon as the facial expression is changed. Unfortunately, as you age, these lines worsen to become permanent marks across your face. Injectable treatments lessen the appearance of these lines.

Fuller Lips

Some women are born with naturally thin lips. Others see their lips thin gradually with age, sun damage, environmental factors, and lifestyle choices like smoking. Dermal fillers restore fullness, shape, and definition to lackluster lips so that you can enjoy plumper, sexier pout.

Neuromodulators

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neurotoxin that minimizes expression lines like crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead lines. This injectable treatment temporarily blocks chemical signals and immobilizes the muscles in the upper region of the face so that wrinkles cannot form. This treatment is a safe, effective, and stress-free way to smooth lines and wrinkles of the upper face. This treatment will only reduce dynamic lines—those caused by repeated muscle contractions. It will not address aging lines that are caused by the natural breakdown of tissues.
Dermal fillers are transparent gels that consist of hyaluronic acid—a natural substance found in the body that attracts and maintains moisture to the skin and tissues.

Injectable options include:

  • JUVÉDERM® to treat moderate to severe facial lines like nasolabial folds
  • JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus to minimize severe nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC to enhance cheek volume
  • Restylane® to lessen moderate to severe wrinkles like smile lines
  • Restylane® Silk to augment the lips and minimize lines around the lips
  • Restylane® Lyft™ to correct volume loss in the face and hands

Other Concerns

The Procedure

Injectable treatments are performed in-office in a matter of minutes.

A local anesthetic or topical numbing cream is applied to the skin around the injection sites to prevent any discomfort during the process. Many injectables also contain small traces of lidocaine to promote comfort even further.

A series of injections—using a fine needle—will be made depending on the size of your treatment area and the depth of your skin concern. Patients remain in the office for a few minutes before they can leave. Since this procedure is not performed under sedation or a strong anesthetic, patients can drive themselves to and from the treatment center.

Recovery Experience

Nonsurgical treatments require little to no downtime and minimal discomfort. Ice packs and cold compresses can be applied to the injection sites immediately following treatment to minimize redness and swelling.

Most patients return to their regular activities immediately following their treatment, but vigorous activity should be avoided for at least 24 hours to reduce the possibility of headaches.

Occasionally, slight bruising can occur at the injection sites. This is temporary and will fade in the following hours and days.

Cost

Injectable treatments are priced per unit. Therefore, the total cost of your treatment will depend on the volume of injectables administered and the number of areas treated. You will be provided with an accurate cost estimate during your consultation.

Results

Dermal fillers restore volume and lessen deep creases immediately following injection. BOTOX® Cosmetic and Jeuveau™ treatments activate and smooth fine lines and wrinkles in the upper face within the first 24 to 36 hours.

The body eventually absorbs these products, and the results will diminish. BOTOX® Cosmetic and Jeuveau™ are known to last between three to four months, and dermal filler injections are estimated to last six months.

Every patient absorbs these injectables at their own rate. Therefore, it is difficult to estimate the exact length of your results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Injectable treatments provide temporary relief of lines and wrinkles. Unfortunately, wrinkles and volume loss is not a temporary condition. Injectable treatments can be repeated as often as necessary to maintain results. Many patients receive BOTOX® Cosmetic or Jeuveau™ treatments every three to four months, and dermal filler injections every six to 12 months.
Nonsurgical injectable treatments restore volume and smooth lines. These can prove to be an alternative to plastic surgery for some qualifying patients; however, they cannot match the depth of correction that is offered with surgery.
Yes. Even though BOTOX® Cosmetic and Jeuveau™ are derived from botulinum toxin—which is the same toxin that leads to botulism—these treatments are entirely safe. The strain used in these treatments is purified, and the actual amount used is so minimal that no complications will arise.
Injectable treatments are administered in units, allowing for complete customization of your results. Results can be subtle or dramatic and will highlight your natural beauty.
Injectable treatments are temporary options. Therefore, there is no way to extend your results because they are naturally absorbed by your body over time. Some patients do experience elongated results after several treatments.
