The stresses of everyday life often keep us from the little things we enjoy. We are usually unable to do many fun things because of work, school, and life schedules.

When you choose to undergo rhinoplasty, you understand that there will be a recovery period ahead of you. However, that does not mean that your recovery has to be boring and tedious.

There are still many fun activities that you can do while properly recovering from your plastic surgery.

Rhinoplasty recovery is a perfect time to do the things that you usually wouldn’t have time for. Take advantage of your time to rest by catching up on these fun activities. You have been through a major surgery; now, you deserve to enjoy your recovery as much as possible.

What Does Rhinoplasty Recovery Entail?

Following your nose job, your nose will be packed and splinted. These dressings will help the recovery process and prevent any external damage while your nasal structure is still particularly fragile and vulnerable.

While there will be bruising and swelling around the nose and under the eyes, these swellings are isolated to this area and shouldn’t interfere with activities all that much. To help reduce swelling, we suggest keeping your head elevated at all times (even when you are sleeping) and avoiding any strenuous activities that would stimulate significant blood flow to the face.

Most people feel comfortable being visible within one to two weeks.

What Activities Are Good During Rhinoplasty Recovery?

1. Watch Movies or TV Shows

You probably have a list of movies and TV shows that you haven’t been able to watch yet.

Well, during the week after rhinoplasty, you have extra time on your hands to watch some new shows. Watching TV shows and movies is a popular thing to do while recovering from any surgery. It helps the time go by fast and does not require a lot of energy.

2. Catch Up on Light Laundry

Laundry is a tedious task that is often left uncompleted. Recovering from rhinoplasty may be the perfect time to catch up on the laundry you have been putting off. Washing and folding laundry is also a good way to get your body moving without exerting yourself.

If you are going light housework, be mindful to keep your head upright as much as possible. This will help with swelling and bruising.

3. Write Letters to Old Friends

When we are busy in life, we forget to slow down and catch up with the people we haven’t seen in a while. Now is the best time to write letters or emails to old family and friends to let them know you miss them.

4. Read Books

The stress of our daily life often keeps us from settling down and getting lost in a good book. Take advantage of this extra time in your schedule by finally getting to the book that has been at the top of your reading list.

5. Go on a Short Walk

You will probably grow tired of being cooped up in your house for a week. Getting outside into the fresh air will do your mind, body, and soul some good.

If you are feeling up for it, take a short stroll around the neighborhood. This will get your body moving, your blood pumping, and you can experience fresh air and sunlight.
