Tummy Tuck Surgery
Technically termed "abdominoplasty," this body contouring procedure is designed to remove excess skin from the stomach area and tighten the underlying muscles. Depending on the amount of sagging skin and lax muscles, Dr. Morales may perform a standard (full) or mini tummy tuck.
Typically, full abdominoplasty is performed by making a long incision in the lower abdomen from hipbone to hipbone. Dr. Morales then separates the skin from the muscle all the way up to ribcage, allowing him to tighten reverse stretching of the muscles. A mini tummy tuck entails a shorter incision and focuses on the area below the navel.
In order attain an even more contoured figure, you may wish to undergo liposuction ("lipoplasty") along with either of the tummy tuck procedures. During liposuction, Dr. Morales would use a long metal rod called a cannula, in order to remove fat cells from the target area. This can produce a more sculpted abdominal region.
